The impact of coffee on the overall health of mankind has been an extensive subject of survey over decades altogether. The resulting research has always reported a series of varied results, ranging from ill effects to moderate effects and even instances of a beneficial role of the drink. In this article, we highlight the various aspects in this context, along with indications from different research reports.

It has been a long-known fact that caffeine, which is the main ingredient in coffee, is a mild stimulant. Though the effects are mostly short-lived, but this ingredient is known to increase blood pressure and accelerate heart rate. However, there is data to indicate that the consumption of coffee has a series of beneficial effects in various degrees of intensity.

In some cases, coffee has also been known to have a negative impact on fertility. A higher level of coffee consumption is associated with higher blood levels of homocysteine, leading to the chances of development of coronary heart disease. Cafestol, one of the ingredients is also known to hike up the cholesterol levels. Excessive consumption of coffee is also known to deplete calcium in women and increase the risks of urinary incontinence.

The Positive Impact

Research strongly suggests that coffee effectively reduces the risk of being effected by colon cancer, though that is only likely to happen if the consumption is more than four cups a day. In addition, coffee is also said to contain antioxidants that help in the prevention of heart disease and even a few form of cancers. This is basically done by removing the cell-destroying oxygen radicals that form the blood. There is no doubt that coffee also has an amazing effect on mental alertness. However, a set of Chinese studies also report that coffee can reduce the effects of Parkinson's disease.

In addition, various American and Scandinavian studies show that the decaf as well as regular coffee can help in the reduction of the risk of being effected by type-2 diabetes. Besides, coffee is also believed to have a positive effect in reducing the chances of developing kidney stones and gallstones. It reportedly also increases the secretion of stomach acid that further helps digestion. There is also a possibility of coffee being effective in reducing the constriction of airways in asthma sufferers, when consumed in moderation. Coffee also contains theophylline, in addition to caffeine, which is a bronchodilator and hence, is effective.

Gloria Jean's Coffees, K-Cup, GJ Special Blend Decaf for Keurig Brewers, 24-Count Boxes (Pack of 2)

Customer Review: Best decaf, hands down
I am a fan of many different types of coffee, but this is my favorite decaf. I usually prefer a much bolder cup, but this presents the perfect cup every time, with a fantastic balance between mild and bold. I have this on auto order, so I am paying roughly 36 cents per cup which is not a bad deal. This is a tough brand and flavor to find in stores, so Amazon really comes through in this department. Add to it the Prime membership, and my coffee is here in two days free of charge.
Customer Review: Gloria Jean Coffee
Always enjoy doing business with Amazon, so I thought I would give Gloria Jean's coffee a try, "Yuk". We normally use Green Mountain Coffee k-cups for our Keurig coffee maker. We were not at all pleased with the Gloria Jean's brand. It is much to bold, bitter and not at all smooth tasting. We will go back to Green Mountain and will not try this again....

Robotics is basically the study of how to make robots, the procedures and controls. The lessons included are about mechanics, electronics and computer programming. On mechanics the parts and their relationship to each other are observed, on electronics the effects of using batteries and electric power are analyze and on computer programming, the robot control management and strategies are explored. The so-called decision theory robotics lies on the third division of the study which is computer programming.

In decision theory robotics, the algorithm and information programs are very significant because these are programmed into the robot so that whenever they get fed with information through the use of transistor s and receivers. Once the robot gets feed with algorithms, it will perform the specific actions programmed for that kind of algorithm. The robot's response capacity solely depends on the program that it has meaning it is always under the control of humans. Robots can do so many things, but this is all because of human ideas and intelligence.

Ideally, every algorithm associated to a fixed or preset program should be expressed whenever the info was sensed by the robot. But sometime there are chances that the accuracy of the decision theory between the algorithm and the set up program fails. When this happens, the robot will be totally malfunctioning it will make actions not in relation to the operation that is being asked for or at worse cases, the robot will lose his capacity and get paralyzed. In such cases like this, help coming from robotics and programming experts are needed for they are the only ones who could understand the complexity on the robot.

The use of decision theory robotics have played significant role in our society today, because in almost everything that we do, we use some simple robots or devices that works because of this theory. We are just unaware but the cellular phones and other device that we are using are one example of this. We should value the things that these simple robots are doing for us for they make our life better and easier. They'd been taking care of the things that human should be doing, they speed up the pace of life of every individual.

Customer Review: this is our second favorite....
This is our second favorite coffee at the office - the cappucchino being the first - Great coffee - Great price....

For some time now, debates continue on the health benefits of coffee. There are a variety of studies which found that indulging on certain amounts of coffee causes high blood pressure, heart ailments and even ulcers.

On the other hand, there have been an almost equal number of researches that proved the health benefits of drinking coffee. Let's look more closely at the benefits.

Recent medical findings have shown that regular consumption of coffee reduces the risk of Parkinson's, diabetes, and even lowers the risk of having colon cancer.

And it seems that the high caffeine content of coffee is the one responsible for all these. The development of Parkinson's for one has been found out to be indirectly correlated to the intake of caffeine. The more you take in caffeine, the less the risk you developing the disease. The same goes with type 2 diabetes.

As more studies are being conducted, the more they are moving towards making their studies conclusive, without any doubts whatsoever. It has been found that taking two cups of coffee a day can reduce the risk of developing colon cancer by as low as 25 percent.

Also an 80% drop in the risk of having liver cirrhosis was observed in people who drink at least 2 cups of coffee on a daily basis.

The antioxidants found in the coffee appear to be the ones responsible for reducing the chances of developing such diseases. It seems that the antioxidants control the growth of the cells of these diseases.

Also, antioxidants are great sources of chlorogenic acid which have been found to be able to reduce glucose concentrations in one's body.

However, one important factor in all these studies is the quantity of coffee consumption. They have found a number of benefits from drinking a cup or two per day.

However, some of the benefits disappear once the individual drinks more than two cups of coffee in a day. The more you drink, the less benefits you will get.

Aside from the antioxidant contents, coffee's caffeine also has some great effects on our body. Recent research from the University of Bristol found out that the caffeine influences our cognition and mood.

According to the study, caffeine from coffee can increase alertness and performance thus increasing one's productivity especially in the workplace.

Still, coffee does have some not so good effects. Caffeine contains a mild addictive stimulant, coffee itself can cause an increase heart rate as well as an increased blood pressure. But as always, the key is moderation.

Try a mocha! In a large mug brew one hot cocoa K-Cup, and add your favorite Green Mountain coffee.
Customer Review: Definitely not a dark chocolate cocoa
I enjoy my Keurig coffee maker, but my wife doesn't drink coffee. She does like hot chocolate, so to make it easy for her to make the hot chocolate we decided to give this a try. We are somewhat disappointed with the flavor of the hot chocolate this yields. It is more milk chocolate based than cocoa based and doesn't have the rich flavor we had hoped for.

After taking a close look at five of the top ranked coffee break arcades according to some company called Google, I decided to write about it. After all, there's a list for everything nowdays. So here's the list for top five coffee break arcade games. If you happen to be unemployed now and your whole day is a coffee break (Hmmm, sounds like me), well...it's ok. You can still take a peak.

After taking a look at five of the top results from a Google search of 'coffee break arcade' I found these games were the most popular.

Starting at number one is:

1. Star Defender. This was actually the easiest choice as three different sites had this game listed as number one. Star defender is a good choice for number one as I had a great time playing it. Top quality.

2. Billiard Training. This is the number one game according to one of the top sites. The idea behind this game is to learn how to to improve at billiards while playing online. The strategy is emphasized.

3. Happy Tree Friends: Flippy Attack. This one is a bit disturbing. Who would want to attack flippy? Ok, it's just a game. Flippy doesn't really die. :-)

4. Air Strike 3D. This one has been gaining ground ( OK, that's air not ground.) and looks like a winner.

5. Fruit Smash. Great game and definitely a game for the farmers and the David Letterman group.

I hope this helps. Just remember: your coffee break lasts only 15 minutes. Unless your self-employed. Then you either have no coffee breaks, or all day long is a coffee break.

Customer Review: LOVE the Hazelnut
I recently bought my Keurig at Costco and it came with this Gloria Jean's Hazelnut coffee. It's the perfect blend for the morning. Great flavor, not too weak for me, not too strong either. I would recommend to those who like flavored coffee who also like a mild to medium blend. ENJOY :)
Customer Review: Great, consistently smooth flavor
This coffee is not a strong-flavored coffee, but provides the perfect blend of Hazelnut with coffee.

To summarize something as phenomenonally successful as Starbucks coffee history might be a challenge. Many volumes have been written on the subject, it is examined and taught in business schools, and whole semesters are dedicated to the marketing genius of the company. The amazing success of Starbucks business model certainly deserves commendation if not adoration in the business world.

The story of Starbucks coffee history begins in Seattle in 1971, when three friends with a passion for fresh coffee, Jerry Baldwin, Zev Siegl and Gordon Bowker, opened a small shop and began selling fresh-roasted, gourmet coffee beans and brewing and roasting accessories.

In 1980 Zev Siegl sold out to pursue other ventures. By that time Starbucks was the largest roaster in Washington with six retail outlets. In 1981 the small coffee company caught the attention of Howard Schultz, a plastics salesman that noted the large quantity of plastic drip-brewing thermoses that they were buying from Hammarplast, the Swedish manufacturer that Shchultz represented here in the U.S.

In 1982 Starbucks coffee history was changed forever when Baldwin hired the energetic Schultz as the new head of marketing and shortly thereafter sent him to an international housewares show in Milan, Italy in 1983. Schultz found himself infatuated with the vibrant coffee culture of Italy. While in nearby Verona, Schultz had his first caffe latte and, as he observed the cafe patrons chatting and laughing joyously while sipping their coffees in the elegant surroundings, inspiration struck.

In what he describes as an epiphany, the idea hit him, "why not create community gathering places like the great coffee house of Italy in the United States?" he wondered. This idea would place Starbucks coffee history into the annuls of business journals for decades to come.

However, his idea was not well received by Baldwin as he wasnt too keen on getting into the restaurant business and distracting him from his original plan of selling whole beans. But he did let him test a small espresso bar in the corner of one of the stores. It was an immediate success and Schultz branched out on his own and opened Il Giornale, a coffee house named after Italys largest newspaper, The Daily.

In 1987 Starbucks was up for sale and Schultz raised the $3.8 million by convincing investors of his vision, one hundred and twenty-five outlets in the next five years. Schultz modified the Starbucks bare-breasted mermaid logo into a more socially acceptable figure, changed the name of Il Giornale to Starbucks and converted the six existing Starbucks roasting shops into elegant, comfortable coffee houses. Starbucks coffee history was just was beginning to take shape.

Shultz exceeded his goal of one hundred and twenty-five stores in five years, in 1992 there were 165 cafes in operation. Today there are over 8,000 stores in 30 countries and annual revenues in excess of $7.5 billion.

Timothy's World Coffee, Morning Blend, K-Cups for Keurig Brewers, 24-Count Boxes (Pack of 2)

Customer Review: Very good coffee!
I'm not a coffee expert by any means. I had no idea whether to get Mild, Medium, Bold or whatnot. I picked this and it is very good. I would recommend it to coffee lovers both experienced and inexperienced!
Customer Review: Mildly Mellow
If you're looking for something that'll grow hair on your chest, then you'll probably want to crank it up a notch or two & go for the dark roast or extra bold blends -- but my husband and I LOVE the mild and non-bitter taste of the Timothy's Morning Blend & it gives us all the kick we need. For a medium blend, I definitely recommend it.

Sony's original Walkman TPS-L2 went on sale July 1, 1979, the walkman brand used by Sony to market its portable audio players. It was then that people began carrying their own choice of music with them, forming an entirely different level of people who drastically changed their music listening habits. In And Sony never entered the race again, until Sony's most recent digital audio, "Sony's NW (Network Walkman)-HD1", a hard-drive digital audio play supporting MP3 format arrived. Now, another MP3 player has been added to the Sony which was out October 2005, the NW-HD2.

Between the two NW-HDs, there are listed on the Internet four main differences - with color being the first one. The original HDs were silver and black. No color was offered earlier, yet the latest players will see lots of color, such as silver, blue, pink, and green. The backlight color has also been changed from green to blue. Technically, the largest change is charging the player from the power cord by using a small interface adapter. It used to be in a cradle in order to charge it. Another change is the in-line remote control, which is gone from the headphone cord. The new player features a 20GB hard drive, and software is included for the conversion of songs. But the top of the line change is the lower price.

The Sony Walkman, redesigned 27 years after its original one, is easy to use through its appealing user interface, and an advanced organic EL display which is 2" on the 20GB with 1.5" on the 50GB. Both Walkmans features two new shuffle functions, where the player will select the most listened to 100 songs, playing them at random.

With the Sony Walkman Core MP3 Player you get 512MB (or 345 songs) worth of memory with an awesome 50 hours of battery life. The battery charger boasts a quick charge time where you can get three hours of playing time from charging for just three minutes. The Sony Walkman Core also has an FM tuner. Sony also offers the Sony Walkman Bean, a truly compact MP3 player with a built-in USB connector, in 512MB and 1GB size. The Walkman Bean gives the same exceptional battery life as the Walkman Core, the fast charging 50 hour battery. Sony's Walkman Bean also comes with the FM tuner and retails for around $89.95 for the 512MB and $119.95 for the 1GB.

The third option Sony has for MP3 consumers is the Walkman Circ, a round and sporty compact digital player. With the Walkman Circ you get 70 hours of battery life with the 512MB memory and a backlit LCD display, with the Sony's Walkman Circ not offering an FM tuner.

Sony's line of MP3 players provides a great example for why the digital audio player race is so complex. The people at Sony are no doubt one of the elite players in electronics, but they are lagging in this race. With difficult software and fragile flash drive players the initial reputation for Sony in the digital audio world is weak. But no one cannot say they have the reputation to pick it up, especially since they started the race anyway.

Green Mountain Coffee Hazelnut Decaf K-Cups 100ct

K-Cups for the Keurig Brewer. buttery, nutty and rich a sweetly decaf coffee 4 boxes of 25 cups.

It wasn't until I moved to the US that I started drinking coffee regularly and became what they call in the Netherlands a 'koffieleut', which translates literally into coffee socialite. Although the average European drinks more coffee per year than the average American, the cultural importance and its effects on the average European seems to me smaller than that on the average American. After all, coffee is a cultural obsession in the United States.

Chains with thousands of branches like Dunkin' Donuts or Starbucks dominate US daily street life. Especially in the morning (90% of coffee consumed in the US is in the morning), millions of white foamy cups with boldly imprinted pink and orange logos bob across the streets in morning rush hour and on the train. Coffee drive-ins are a saving grace for the rushing army of helmeted and tattooed construction workers. During lunch break, men and women in savvy business suits duck into coffee shops.

Students chill out from early afternoon till late evening on comfy couches at coffee lounges around campus. Police officers clutch coffee cups while guarding road construction sites on the highway. In short, coffee drinkers in the United States can be found just about anywhere you go.

This mass-psychotic ritual causes Americans to associate Europe above all with cars that oddly do not contain cup holders (to an American this is like selling a car without tires), or with the unbelievably petite cups of coffee European restaurants serve, so small that my father-in-law had to always order two cups of coffee. It is my strongest conviction that the easily agitated and obsessed nature of the New Englander can be blamed on the monster-size cups of coffee they consume. Not without reason is the word 'coffee' derived from the Arab 'qahwa' meaning that which prevents sleep. Arabs have cooked coffee beans in boiling water since as far back as the 9th century and drank the stimulating extract as an alternative to the Muslims forbidden alcohol.

These days coffee is second only to oil as the most valuable (legally) traded good in the world with a total trade value of $70 billion. Interestingly, only $6 billion reaches coffee producing countries. The remaining $64 billion is generated as surplus value in the consumption countries. Small farmers grow 70% of world coffee production. They mainly grow two kinds of coffee beans: Arabica and Robusta. About 20 million people in the world are directly dependent on coffee production for their subsistence.

Table 1: production in 2002/3

country % 70% Arabica

30% Robusta

Brasil 42.03% Arab/Rob

Colombia 8.88% Arabica

Vietnam 8.35% Robusta

Indonesia 4.89% Rob/Arab

India 3.74% Arab/Rob

Mexico 3.54% Arabica

Guatemala 3.1% Arab/Rob

Uganda 2.53% Rob/Arab

Ethiopia 2.44% Arabica

Peru 2.24% Arabica

Table 2: consumption in 2001/2world consumption % kg per capita (2001)

USA 30.82% Finland 11.01

Germany 15.07% Sweden 8.55

Japan 11.47% Denmark 9.71

France 8.89% Norway 9.46

Italy 8.59% Austria 7.79

Spain 4.90% Germany 6.90

Great-Brittain 3.63% Switzerland 6.80

the Netherlands 2.69% the Netherlands 6.48

Although the consumption of coffee per capita in the world is decreasing (in the US alone it decreased from 0.711 liter in 1960 to 0.237 liter presently), world consumption is still increasing due to the population explosion. Considering that coffee consists of either 1% (Arabica), 2% (Robusta) or 4.5%-5.1% (instant coffee) caffeine, the average American consumes at least 200 to 300mg (the recommended maximum daily amount) of caffeine a day through the consumption of coffee alone.

The place I frequent to down a cup of coffee is the Starbucks in Stamford, Connecticut. The entrance can be found on the corner of Broad Street and Summer Street, to the left to the main public library with its plain pediment and slim Ionic columns. The location right next to the library harmonizes with Starbucks marketing plan. At the entrance of the coffee shop a life-size glass window curves around to the left, providing superb voyeuristic views of pedestrians on the sidewalk. As you enter, you step directly into the living room area with stacked bookshelves against the back wall. Velvet armchairs face each other with small coffee tables in the middle, creating intimate seating areas. The velvet chairs near the window are the prime seats, which people unfortunate to score a wooden chair prey upon. At the back of the long rectangular room is the coffee bar and a small Starbucks gift shop. There is a dark wooden table with electrical outlets suited for spreading out laptops and spreadsheets, dividing the living room area from the coffee bar.

Since I have been cranky for weeks I hesitate to order a regular black coffee. It is very easy to get cloyed with a favorite food or drink in the US because of the super-sized portions served. The smallest cup of coffee is a size 'tall' (12oz.=0.35l.), after which one can choose between a 'grande' (16oz.=0.5l.) and a 'venti' (20oz.=0.6l.). Half a liter of coffee seems a bit over the top, and it sounds absolutely absurd to my European mind. I finally end up choosing a 'solo' espresso.

Sitting in one of the booth-like seats against the back wall, unable to obtain a prime seat, I feign to read my book while eavesdropping on conversations around to me. Three middle-aged men sit in three ash gray velvet chairs and converse loudly. A vivid dialogue develops, exchanged with half roaring, half shrieking, laughter. They mock a colleague in his absence and then clench their brows in concern while discussing the teeth of one of the mens daughter. Two African-American women sit at a small table opposite the reading-table in the murky light, one of them with a yellow headscarf with black African motifs. Close to the entrance, in the seating area next to the animated conversation, a vagabond is playing solitaire. One by one he places the creased cards with rounded backs over one another, as if he attempts to stick them together. He rendered a couple of dollars in exchange for a small coffee to feel, in the warmth of the front room, nostalgia for a cozy living room and relives a sense of intimacy of having your own house.

It's a bright, sunny, early autumn day, a typical New England Indian summer. Sunbeams radiate through the coloring, flickering foliage, and throw a puzzle-shaped shadow into Starbucks window. Autumns hand turns her colorful kaleidoscopic lens. The green ash tree near the sidewalk resembles, with its polychrome colors, somewhat a bronze statue: its stem sulphur bronze, its foliage intermittently copper green and ferric-nitrate golden. On the other side of the cross walk the top of a young red oak turns fiery red. These are the budding impressions of the autumn foliage for which Connecticut is 'world famous' in the US.

In the world of marketing and entrepreneurship, Starbucks is a success story. It is one of those stories of excellence taught as a case study at business school. Founded in 1971, it really began its incredible growth under Howard Schultz in 1985, and presently has 6,294 coffee shops. But what does its success really consists of? A large cup of coffee at Starbucks is much more expensive than at Dunkin' Donuts: $2.69 compared to $3.40 for a Starbucks' venti. But while Dunkin' Donuts offers only a limited assortment of flavors like mocha, hazelnut, vanilla, caramel and cinnamon, you will find exotic quality beans at Starbucks like Bella Vista F.W. Tres Rios Costa Rica, Brazil Ipanema Bourbon Mellow, Colombia Nario Supremo, Organic Shade Grown Mexico, Panama La Florentina, Arabian Mocha Java, Caff Verona, Guatemala Antigua Elegant, New Guinea Peaberry, Zimbabwe, Aged Sumatra, Special Reserve Estate 2003 Sumatra Lintong Lake Tawar, Italian Roast, Kenya, Ethiopia Harrar, Ethiopia Sidamo, Ethiopia Yergacheffe and French Roast. So Starbucks offers luxury coffees and high quality coffee dining, reminiscent almost of the chic coffee houses I visited in Vienna.

Every now and then, I grin shamefully and think back at my endless hesitation choosing between the only two types of coffee available in most Dutch stores: red brand and gold brand. Even up to this day I have no clue what the actual difference is between the two, apart from the color of the wrapping: red or gold. Not surprisingly, Starbucks appeals to the laptop genre of people: consultants, students, intellectuals, the middle class, and a Starbucks coffee is a white-collar coffee, while a Dunkin' Donuts coffee is a blue-collar coffee. In Dunkin' Donuts you will run into Joe the Plumber, Bob the barber, and Mac the truck driver. But what is it exactly, that attracts the white collared workers in the US to fall back into the purple velvet chairs?

I imagine their working days filled with repetitive actions and decisions within a playing field of precisely defined responsibilities. How many of the players in these fields get through the day with its routines for simply no other reason than being able to enjoy their daily 30 minutes-escape into the Starbucks intimacy where, for a brief moment in the day, you regain the illusion of human warmth and exotic associations of resisting the coldness of high finance?

For 15 minutes you fall back into the deep, soft pillow of a velvet chair and randomly, and alas how important is that moment of utter randomness, pull a book from the shelves. While, in the background, soothing tones resound of country blues, with its recognition of deep human suffering, a blaze of folk with the primary connection with nature and tradition, or of merengue reviving the passionate memories of adventure and love, you gaze out the window and ponder about that simple, volatile reflection in the moment, strengthened by the physical effect of half a liter of watery coffee that starts to kick in and the satisfaction of chewing your muffin, bagel, cake, brownie, croissant or donut.

It is, above all, that bodily ecstasy caused by a combination of caffeine, sugar and the salivating Pavlov effect. You remember the struggling musician behind the counter taking your order, the amateur poet as you pay her for the coffee and give a full dollar tip, feeling a transcendental bound in your flight from reality. You stare with a fastened throbbing of the first gulps of coffee at the advertisements and poems on the bulletin board, and dauntlessly you think: They are right, they are so right! and what do I care? Why should I care?

But then you look at your watch and notice you really have to run again. 'Well, too bad, gotta go!', or people will start gossiping for being so long away from your desk. And while you open the door, an autumn breeze blows in your face, the last tunes of the blues solo die out as the Hammond organ whispers: 'I throw my troubles out the door, I don't need them anymore'.

Coffee in the US is a subculture that massively floated to the surface of the consumers society. Starbucks is more than coffee, it's more than just another brand on the market, it is a social-political statement, a way of perceiving how you would like to live, in other words it is a culture. Starbucks is the alternative to Coca-Cola and so much more than just coffee: it's chocolate, ice-cream, frappuccino, travel mugs with exotic prints, cups and live music, CD's, discounts on exhibitions and even support for volunteer work.

A Digital Photo Frame has become an essential component that helps beef up the aesthetic value of your home. A Digital Photo Frame should be capable of playing MP3 files, displaying JPEGs, and even few video formats. Some high-end jobs also interpret DivX file formats. Inbuilt speakers enable you play music while witnessing a slide show of your pictures. Often there is a calendar feature integrated with an alarm function.

If you have planned to use it as an alarm clock, ensure the inbuilt speakers are sufficiently loud.

More importantly, check the clarity of sound produced and the type of formats that the player can read. This is especially vital for viewing videos that are captured with the help of your camera. Either ensure the frame reads those formats or you can have a converter handy. Options like TV-out and earphones will allow you look at normal videos too in private.

There are a few Digital Photo Frames that do not come with a remote control. This is quite problematic as there is a necessity to manually make some adjustments for moving the images or media files. Therefore ensure a remote is incorporated with your frame so that you can adjust any feature from a distance at ease on your Digital Photo Frames.

You will also need to ensure that the frame comes with an adjustable rear stand so you that you can manipulate the height to make up for either the light striking the screen at an odd angle or to view the onscreen content at a much more convenient angle.

These tips will help you choose the kind of Digital Photo Frame you are searching for. Adhere to your budget though and do not be concerned about the styling. There is a plethora of Digital Photo Frames to choose from that are available in the market. The features are quite akin but it is the build quality and the adjustments in those features that add a bit of difference to the price.

Gloria Jean's Coffees, K-Cup, Pecan Pie, 24-Count Box (Pack of 2)

Customer Review: Good coffee
We really like Gloria Jean's coffees. The Pecan Pie is very good and smells great but my favorite is still Butter Toffee.
Customer Review: Southern Pecan K-cups
Couldn't believe how quickly I received this item! Love the product! Would like to see Amazon use smaller box and packing materials- seemed like a waste to ship a box 1/2 empty.

Five or six years ago, any review of MP3 players would have focused almost exclusively on the Apple iPod - because that's basically all there was right then. Oh, sure, some other companies had previously produced gizmos they called MP3 players... the best of which were capable of handling a few dozen songs.

Then Apple had the audacity to market a portable music platform that could hold literally thousands of songs - and the 400-pound gorilla of the digital music world was born.

The Basics

Once the dust settled, the other electronics manufacturers went back to the drawing board and tried again. They did eventually figure it out, and now any decent review of MP3 players has to take two broad types of player into account.

Like the iPod, some modern players use a computer-type hard drive to store music. The other type uses flash memory. Both technologies have grown exponentially in the past five years, and can now pack gigabytes of audio into surprisingly small spaces.

About that Gorilla...

Any review of mp3 players still has to start with iPods, which now come in a variety of styles: e.g., the Shuffle, Nano, Classic, and Touch. Only the Classics still use hard drives; the others use flash memory. All are top-quality, excellent picks you can't go wrong with.

The latest generation of the Classic and its serious competitors, like the Microsoft Zune, can hold up to 30,000 songs - more than 10 weeks' worth of audio. That's pretty amazing to those of us who can remember when 8-track tapes were the finest recording media ever.

Their incredible capacity for the price (about $245, versus $150-200 for an 8-16 GB flash player) makes the latest generation of hard-drive based players very attractive. But no decent review of MP3 players would be complete without pointing out some of their negative aspects as well.

While hard-drive players are reliable and can hold tons of songs, they're also heavy and prone to skipping because of the many moving parts. Plus, replacements for the batteries, which often fail after a few years of constant recharging, are so expensive it can be easier just to buy a new player.

Flash Memory Players

Today's modern flash memory models are actually the much-improved descendants of the low-density gizmos mentioned at the beginning of this review of MP3 players. So how do they rate?

Their biggest benefit is their complete lack of moving parts; their biggest drawback remains their limited capacity. You have to ask yourself, though, if you really need space for 30,000 songs. Flash players come in capacities ranging from 512MB to 32GB (128-8,000 songs), which is plenty for many of us.

Any fair review of MP3 players has to feature SanDisk's line of flash-memory MP3 players, which offer great quality (but relatively low capacity) for as little as $30 or so. Similarly, Creative offers the MuVo, another line of low-cost, high-quality flash player that can, in some cases, double as a USB flash drive.

The Verdict

The best flash MP3 players, like Sony's Walkman and iPod's Nano, are of exceptional quality and durability - but for the price, you may as well get a high-density hard-drive model. Even the best flash memory-based MP3 player will have a capacity that's maybe a fourth of a good hard-drive player's.

It all comes down to what's more important to you: capacity or price. If our review of MP3 players has convinced you that shock-resistance and economy are more desirable, we recommend the Creative Muvo or SanDisk MP3s; otherwise, you can't do better than an iPod Classic or Microsoft Zune.

Customer Review: Great morning coffee
I have a variety of K-cup coffees set up to automatically be delivered to my house. I love fresh coffee with little clean up! This one is a crowd pleaser. Not too strong, not too mellow. It seems to be a safe choice to please all coffee drinkers.
Customer Review: Good coffee choice for a wide number of tastes
I personally drink decaf, but I keep regular coffee on hand for those who don't. This flavor seems to fit the tastes of many coffee drinkers. Kind of like Goldilocks--not too week, not overly strong with a true coffee flavor. Everyone who drinks it has been satisfied with it.

The coffee world isn't just about walking into your local provider and ordering an espresso. Imagine what it would be like to devote your life entirely to coffee.

That is what Beverage Marketing Australia general manager Gary Newcome has virtually done. He tastes coffee. He studies coffee. He markets, sells and drinks coffee. Luckily he has a wife to help him and the company has gone from strength to strength. They have decided to, not only do everything possible in the coffee industry, but also to focus on the most important part - customer service.

Both Gary and his wife realise that the success of their venture - and it IS successful - is down to ensuring that both them and their staff are dedicated to success and making the customer experience worthwhile.

And they give things back too. The proceeds for some of the sales get transferred back to the forests and the communities in them. They sell Fairtrade and Land Trust coffee as a sign of their own commitment to the origin of coffee.

By looking after such communities they are helping to ensure a fair wage, a fair living and a fair use of the land. Things become sustainable.

But they are not stopping there - they are launching into the commercial market to sell their coffee and expertise. But on the fundamental level there is pure and practical advice on how to make a good cup of coffee - a perfect bean, the best water and a dependable machine. And, of course, someone who knows what they are doing in making it.

Panasonic has presented a new digital camera Lumix DMC -TZ50 which promises to share your photos through wireless communication. Nice isn't it? But it costs you a few more bucks. Looking at its other features we come to know of the following facts. It has an effective 9.1mega pixel CCD, 10X optical zooming capability, optical image stabilizer. It also has a compact body, a 3 inch LCD display and above all the built in Wi-Fi which helps to upload your snaps to picasa for later management. If you own this masterpiece then you don't need to remove the red eye by wasting your time, but the camera does it for you automatically.

This is not all. The point and shoot task having automatic selection of scenes is an addition of features. This camera automatically brightens the under exposed areas of the photograph. It has all the memory slots you need from SD, SHDC to MMC, in addition to the 50 MB onboard memory. Now moving on to the battery life it is suggested that this camera provides 300 shots per charge.

There arises a doubt why not Sony Cyber-shot DSC-W150 it offers 400 shots, the canon power shot SD 890 IS that gives about 320 shots per charge. The new Nikon cool pix P80 gives you a 10.1 effective mega pixel CCD, 18X optical zooming, a sport continuous mode that allows you take 30 shots in a row at 13 fps, 50 MB onboard and 250 shots per charge.

Choice is definitely yours. It is a good idea to go through many reviews before you buy something new.

Coffee People K-Cup Extra Bold Wake Up Call Bold, 24-Count Boxes (Pack of 2)

Customer Review: Finally!
We just received the Keurig coffee maker for Christmas and love the convenience, but have been searching for regular flavored coffee since. We're a Folgers/Maxwell House-type of household, so we weren't real big on the gourmet samples that came with the coffee machine. This is the closest to plain old good coffee that we've found. It smells great and tastes just like the plain coffee we love!
Customer Review: Good but leaks grounds
I really like the bold taste of this k-cup brand, but every time I make a cup from this particular batch, I get a bunch of coffee grounds in my coffee. I have tried a couple dozen Keurig k-cup brands and flavors, and this is the first one I have come across that leaves grounds in my cup. Not sure if it is the norm for this brand (too finely ground?) or if I got a bad batch. I am disappointed as it does have a great taste.

When your commercial coffee machine needs to be repaired, you will of course want it to be fixed as soon as possible. But what is involved in having it repaired? When you are choosing a company to repair your coffee machine, make sure you ask them the following questions:

How long will it take to fix? Obviously this depends on the extent of the problem, however some companies will aim to fix your machine within 24 hours, and some will fix it on-site or, if you take it to them, will fix it while you wait, allowing you to get your machine back in action as soon as possible.

Will a loan machine be provided? If your machine is going to take time to fix, it can be a good idea to choose a repair company who will offer a machine for you to use in the meantime. The last thing you want is to loose business because of a broken machine!

Is my coffee machine covered? Double-check that the company you have chosen actually can repair the type of machine you have, as some companies will only repair specific makes. If you do not see your machine listed on their website, it can be worth giving the company a ring and asking them if they will fix yours- sometimes they will make an exception.

Is my area covered? Depending on where the company are based, they may have a set radius that they will visit. If you are outside of their region, you may have to find an alternative company or take your machine to them; however, again, it can be worth calling the company in question to check whether they will make an exception for you.

Once you have answers to the above questions, you should be well on your way to getting your machine up and running again!

Gloria Jean's Coffees, K-Cup, Serenity Green Tea for Keurig Brewers, 24-Count Boxes (Pack of 2)

Customer Review: Great for K-Cup Tea
In terms of green teas available in K-Cup form this is definitely the best. It's not quite what you can get out of some signature or scoop-it-yourself, fancy infuser teas, but it does the trick. I use the smallest cup setting on my Keureg for these and they turn out great. It's perfect for your quick cup of tea or morning rush as well. It's just strong enough that you can get a great amount of flavor without it being overkill. General health information makes it attractive, a decent value and a regular in my day-to-day life.
Customer Review: OK...
I'm usually a huge fan of Gloria Jean's/Coffee People products, but the tea seemed really weak. A better product is the Kirkland (Costco) Signature Japanese Green Tea - also a better value. I will definitely continue to buy their coffee products, but will hold off on tea.

There are countless coffee enthusiasts around the globe. In big cities, coffee drinkers are seen everywhere. From public transportation to city sidewalks to sidewalk cafs, they sip their favorite cup of Joe on the go.

Is there any reason why we see so many coffee drinkers throughout big cities? Of course, there are more people so there is a greater chance of spotting java lovers. Another reason is the large number of coffee houses, delis, coffee bars and restaurants serving up this hot treat. Chicago lovers have countless options as they breeze through the Windy City.

Sometimes you see people rushing with a huge vat of java. Other connoisseurs recognize a smaller cup tastes best with a rich, hot intensity of flavor. Seasoned commuters carry theirs in a special mug with a sealed lid and thermal interior to keep their precious brew fresh. Often connoisseurs choose to get their favorite beverage at coffee houses because they have a passion for a specialty brew. Environmentalists want the best organic blens. Customer Review: the best cup yet
After receiving a K-cup coffee maker for Christmas, I have tried many coffees. This is absolutely my favorite so far. Its rich and flavorful, not bitter. I used to roast and grind my own beans, this is so much more convenient and very tasty.
Customer Review: Best I've had
This is one of the best tasting coffee I have ever had. Even fresh ground at home from high quality beans seems to be slightly lower on the chain compaired to this. I was greatly impressed, I thought for sure it couldn't taste as fresh or as bold as fresh ground. But I was wrong. This is fantastic coffee.

Fountain pens make great gifts. They're personal, stylish and fun, not to mention very useful in everyday life.
There are so many fine pens to choose from, and you can guarantee personalization by having them engraved. However, because there are a lot of options, choosing the "right" pen for that special person on your gift list can be intimidating. Here are some tips for making it easy and enjoyable instead.

Tip #1: Focus on the other person's preferences, not your own.

If you like the same things, you've got it made. But that's usually not the case. Put yourself in the other person's shoes and you're off to a good start.

Tip #2: What type of writing instrument?

There are four choices: Fountain Pen, Ball Point Pen, Rollerball Pen and Mechanical Pencil. What type is used as an everyday writing instrument? How about for special occasions like signing documents or writing personal correspondence? What is his or her profession? Answering these questions will help you determine the type.

Tip #3: Evaluate a handwriting sample of the person.

This is especially helpful if you're going to pick out a fountain pen. And it's easier than it may sound. For instance, a fine nib is your best bet for smaller writing or writing that has slimmer lines. On the other hand, a medium to broad sized nib works well for writing that's larger and darker. If the sample wasn't written with a fountain pen, it will either confirm or change the decision you made as a result of Tip #2.

Tip #4: Decide how much you want to spend.

This can help you narrow the field and not get too distracted. But give yourself a reasonable range so you'll still have plenty of choices. Sometimes a slightly more expensive writing instrument will make a big difference in quality, performance and appearance.

Tip #5: What's the person's style?

Is he or she traditional, a trendsetter or somewhere in between? Get your clues from personal or business attire, accessories such as watches, jewelry and eyewear, even what the person drives. These answers will help you pick a pen brand, finish, color and more, until you've made your final selection.

Customer Review: Diedrich Coffee, K-Cup, French Roast 24-Count Box
Diedrich Coffee, K-Cup, French Roast, 24-Count Box (Pack of 2) Very rich taste, great coffee.
Customer Review: Great coffee
This is a great cup of coffee. It is easily better than many of the gourmet brand coffees, and the price makes it easy to swallow.

Have you ever, after a busy day and you finally got to sit down in your favorite pajamas found that you really wanted a great coffee drink like you get at your local coffee house?
This is no time to get redressed and go out for coffee.

Try making your own specialty coffee. I like those cold coffees with lots of flavor but the hot drinks are right up there too. During one of those times I decided to throw caution to the wind and started brewing. Now to get my special ingredients to blend and melt into that wonderful full flavor I was looking for I decided to put them into the pot itself for the brewed coffee to drip down into and just mingle with the Ahhh flavors I love. So, I measured the water for three fourths pot, poured that into the water chamber, put in the filter and measured enough coffee for a full pot plus a touch more for a rich robust coffee flavor to find its way thru the Ahhh flavors.

I am not one to like he-man coffee but full flavored coffee, so I use the low acid roasted kind so beefing up the amount used was not going to ruin my long anticipated night with acid reflux. Now came time for the design of my treat as to what it would taste like. I love mocha and cream, mellow with a lingering coffee taste. Don't forget, the idea is coffee not milkshake. Right in the pot I added my favorite liquid refrigerated flavored creamer for approximately 6 cups then I added chocolate syrup like you put on ice cream right into the pot, about the amount for one ice cream sundae. I needed a touch more sweetness so I added some maple syrup, the amount for one pancake right on top of the creamer and chocolate syrup. I put the pot with its liquid Ahhh under the drip basket and hit brew, watched it mingle and swirl while it filled the house with the most indescribable mouth watering scent.

Finally, it finished brewing. I poured a cup and took a loving sip, it was good but not great, it needed more coffee flavor. Well, after some though I grabbed the instant coffee, put in enough for about two cups and tested it again. To my delight it was great!

At the end of the night I found about two thirds of a pot of this wonderful brew left so I poured it into a container and put it in the refrigerator. The next evening I could not wait to find out if it had remained as good as I had remembered or if it had lost its Ahhh. I poured a cup right out of the frig and broke into song. It was still every bit as good, perhaps better. Now it was the cold wonderful coffee I love also.

Hot or cold, this is better than take out. It is My flavors in My coffee and I can have it anytime I want. I also found I could take a cup to work for a treat either hot or cold for a mid morning "you can make it" break.

Since my first try at making this wonderful brew I have learned to just put more coffee in for the brew to start with. Now, it turns out very much like that famous coffee in those little bottles.

Give it a try with your flavors and favorite blend. You can enjoy the flavor and convenience without the budget breaking price anytime.

Customer Review: Used with Keurig, Makes a decent cup of coffee.
I use this to make pods for use with the "Perfect Pod Holster" with a Keurig B50. The coffee it makes is pretty good. It took a few pods before I got the coffee the way I wanted and I have found that filling the pod to the top with coffee and sealing it for about 8 seconds (not the recommended 2-3 seconds) works best. A pound of coffee makes about 40 pods. Depending on how expensive the coffee is, I am betting the average cost per pod will be 25 - 40 cents a pod. Better than individual K-Cups and less waste. The unit appears to be pretty solid and well built although it did appear that my box was re-packaged. Didn't have that "new packaged" look when I opened it. The unit itself was clean and did look new. Overall, very satisfied so far.

As the coffee industry shifts toward fair trade practices and organic certification, more farmers are switching to organic and sustainable practices. But, what does that mean, and how does it affect the actual coffee? For answers to these questions and tips on where you can find gourmet organic coffee, keep reading.

What Does Organic Mean?

Organic coffee typically indicates it has been certified by the USDA and meets their stringent growing and harvesting standards for organic certification. Therefore, coffee that has been certified as organic has been farmed using methods that have a minimal impact on the environment and little to no reliance on chemical or unnatural methods.

Because coffee is harvested as a seed, buying organic has little-to-no health effects for the consumer. However, purchasing an organic coffee bean means you're supporting environmentally friendly and sustainable farming methods.

Ethical or Fair Trade Purchasing

Fair trade certification focuses on the labor practices of the coffee farmer and manufacturer. By purchasing fair trade coffee, you're supporting a trade standard that gives small-industry grower co-ops a standard price for their coffee.

While fair trade doesn't carry the same environmental standards as organic certification, they do ban the use of GMOs (genetically modified organisms) and most pesticides.

Who Makes Organic Coffee?

Green Mountain Coffee Company (http://www.greenmountaincoffee.com)

The Green Mountain Coffee Company is based out of Vermont and is one of the country's largest organic and fair trade coffee suppliers. They currently do the bulk of their business as a supplier for office and workplace coffee needs, including K-Cups and instant coffee machines.

Gloria Jean's Coffee (http://www.gloriajeanscoffees.com.au)

As a roaster and supplier of 100 percent organic, fair trade coffee, this Australian coffee roaster was awarded the Corporate Green Globe Award by the prestigious Rainforest Alliance.

They sell a range of coffees and roasts while fulfilling their commitment to ethical environmental and social business practices.

Jim's Organic Coffee (http://www.jimsorganiccoffee.com)

Jim's Organic Coffee makes a range of blends and roasts that are certified organic and fair trade. The company also sells a Rainforest blend that is shade grown and certified by the Rainforest Alliance. This means the farming methods used to cultivate the coffee don't destroy natural habitats or the existing rainforest ecosystem around the plantation.

Starbucks

Starbucks, a major coffee retailer all over the world, carries three kinds of organic coffee. They stock their Shade Grown Mexican, Organic Serena Blend and their own Organic Sumatra-Peru blend.

Gloria Jean's Coffees, Tea K-Cup, Peppermint Herbal Tea for Keurig Brewers, 25-Count Boxes (Pack of 2)

Customer Review: Super minty and delicious
I love herbal teas before bed, and peppermint is one of the most soothing flavors I can imagine. These k-cups make a very strong mint tea on the 8oz setting. So far, I have been very impressed with all the Gloria Jean products I have tried, and this is no exception. Those who are looking for herbal mint tea will love this. If you are looking for a flavored black tea, you are looking at the wrong product.
Customer Review: Excellent and Pepperminty
This is an excellent herbal tea. Its very pepperminty tasting and that is what it is supposed to be. It is not a standard tea flavored with peppermint it is all peppermint and very nice. I like the strong taste and smell of it but I do think it needs sugar or splenda. If it is too strong for you just add some more water to the cup and water it down. But please do not water mine down its just fine the way it is!!

Timothy's World Coffee, Extra Bold Fair Trade Nicaraguan, K-Cups for Keurig Brewers, 24-Count Boxes (Pack of 2)

Customer Review: Dissatisfied
In past I have ordered both Timothy's coffees and GM Sumatran Extra Bold Fair Trade and they were great. This Nicaraguan is just awful. Wish I hadn't purchased double quantity to get free shipping. Now I'm stuck with it. Be warned... try sampler first.
Customer Review: Good but not the best
I enjoyed the different taste. But it was not one of the best coffees I have enjoyed. I have tried many of Timothy's coffee and so far his midnight magic and parisian nights are the ones I absolutely love.

Coffee is an important part of your life and making it through the day without your coffee can be really hard. What if you have recently moved into a tiny apartment with an even smaller kitchen? Your partner is making you trash your old coffee makers, so what do you do? Can you afford $3 a day on drinking coffee out? No! If you need to optimize your kitchen space, then try one of the space saver coffee makers. This little machine will help you to save space and drinking some great coffee.

There are tons of space saver coffee makers out there today. The best kind of machine for a beginners or a coffee lover is a drip machine. These use permanent filters that the oils from the beans get into your liquid coffee. These filters can be gold, nylon, or made of another material. You must make sure to clean your filters after each time you make coffee, but its worth it.

French presses or another hand press coffee maker is another alternative. Some people think these produce the best coffee and that any other way is a travesty!

Some pod-type machines are a bit newer and using a hot water blast to go through an individual pad of coffee. These taste like a European coffee and are often found in offices where there are lots of tastes to account for. An espresso machine will shoot steam through a cup that has coffee grounds in it. These are fresh grounds compared to the pad that is used in a pod-type machine.

No mater what you choose, you will love your space saving coffee machine! So get shopping today for the right one.

Being specifically interested in coffee types, Clinton Maxwell was publishing many papers on the topic. His writings on coffee making and coffee makers can be found on his web publications .

Customer Review: One of my favorites
It's been almost 4 months now since I've had my Keurig B70. As any new owner, you'll go through sample boxes upon sample boxes (not to mention boxes of roasts & flavors) until you find the types you really like. Now, my shelf has only 3 flavors on it and the Gloria Jean's Chai is one of them. From the aroma it expels when brewing to the delicious taste it has when drinking, I am an avid re-orderer of this item.
Customer Review: Chai Tea Great alternative to coffee
I love the K-cups. The Chai Tea is very good and a nice change from coffee. The flavor is sweet and light. I love the convinence and variety you get from the K-cups.

Electronic store gadgets seem to sprout out of nowhere like mushrooms. Every time you read a newspaper or magazine and watch the television, you are introduced to the latest and most advanced technological breakthrough on the face of the earth. Of the many gizmos and devices available on the market, one thing that TV addicts may want to consider investing on is the HDTV or High Definition Television.

This new device is a more enhanced version of digital television, or DTV. The resolution in HDTV is more defined and you will truly have a more cinematic experience with this type of television.

However, when buying HDTV, you need to insist on an integrated system because it is complete and you do not have to think about connecting tuner or receiver. With the integrated system, all you need is a satellite or cable connection.

If you do not have enough money, you can probably consider the HDTV-capable set. This is an HDTV monitor but you will need to find or buy an external receiver to enable you to watch an HDTV show or program. It is important to note that an HDTV without this external receiver is just like an ordinary television set. You will not be able to enjoy high definition images even if the monitor is HDTV without this add-on.

By the way, an HDTV ready is not necessarily an HDTV capable screen or monitor. Before buying this type of system, carefully ask your sales clerk if the set is actually an HDTV screen. Better yet, just stick with the HDTV integrated system or the HTV-capable set.

Since there are many brands of HDTV in the market, choosing one can really be daunting. To help you out with this task, read the buying guide below to know what features of HDTV to look for:

Audio

The most common type of sound system used in HDTVs is the Dolby Digital Surround. Some manufacturers, however, use other type of audio systems. The best way to determine which brand has the best sound is to try them out.

Connector Ports

The number of connector ports of HDTV varies tremendously from one brand to another. Thus, if you are buying an HDTV, or any other television sets, you need to see if the product has all the connector ports you need.

The usual connector ports that are being used are the Composite Video, RF, A/V, RCA, Component video, VGA and HDMI.

HD Receiver/Tuner

If you do not want any fuss, you should opt for a set that has an internal HD receiver or tuner. As mentioned earlier, this is the integrated system type of HDTV set. However, if your cable or satellite provider rents out or offers free external HD receiver, then you may want to buy the much cheaper HDTV capable set.

Resolution

One of the most important features that you need to look out for when buying an HDTV is the resolution. If the resolution of the HDTV set is poor, then there is really no reason why you have to buy that set because your old television set may have better resolution.

If you want fantastic resolution, be sure to look for a set that has a vertical resolution of 1080i and 720p. Standard television usually only has a vertical resolution of 480i. By the way, the "i" here stands for interlaced, which is the type of vertical resolution being used in analog TV, while the "p" is progressive, the usual choice for digital television sets.

Bob is the owner of Electronics DVD VCR Stereo website. Of the many gizmos and devices available on the market, one thing that TV addicts may want to consider investing on is the HDTV Television.
